The Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year, with the least amount of darkness. Celebrations
may take place on the day of or the day after the Solstice, when the daylight hours start to decline.

This is when the Oak King give his reign to the Holly King. This is the waning part of the year, considered
the darker side of the two. In witchcraft, light and dark aren't used in reference to white and black
magick, they are literal references to the length of the day.

Th Goddess still bears the robes of the Mother, holding a promise of a full harvest. While to God
changes through cycles, life, death, amd rebirth, the Goddess changes in aspect, the Maiden, the Mother,
and the Crone or Wise One.

The Summer Solstice is a time for a little reflection, while the Sun is at the peak in his power,
he also starts his decline. This is true for one hemisphere, but not the other, reminding us that the
cycle of life is never ending. The seasons are like the tides, when one is at it's peak and prepares
to ebb, another takes it's place.

Many chose to rise at dawn to greet the Sun on it's most powerful day.
